The Most Valuable Player in both the 1985 Sun Belt Conference Tournament and the NCAA Final Four, Tracy Claxton was the Lady Monarchs quiet leader. Claxton averaged 14.8 points and 11.2 rebounds as the Lady Monarchs captured their third National Crown in 1985 with a 13-3 mark.

A native of New Haven, CT., Claxton completed her career at ODU with 1,999 points. She is third on the school's all-time rebounding list with 1,434, fourth in steals with 250 and tenth in games played with 118.

The 6-2 forward led ODU in rebounding in 1984 at 11.3 and in 1985 at 11.2. As a junior she shot .556 from the floor in 1984 to lead the team and ranked third in the Sun Belt Conference. She scored a career high 28 points against UCLA and grabbed 20 rebounds twice during her career, the first against Long Beach State in 1984, but the second was in the 1985 NCAA final against Georgia. Overall, she performed the double-double 37 times.

Claxton earned All-District honors in 1984 and 1985 and she was named All-American in 1984 and 1985 by the National Sports Federation. She graduated from ODU in 1985 with a degree in Health and Physical Education.
