MARK YOUR CALENDARS: Blue-White Game On October 26th

NORFOLK, Va. -- Get your first glimpse of the 2008-09 Old Dominion Lady Monarchs in action at the annual Blue-White Game. The Blue-White Game will take place on Sunday, October 26th at 3:00 p.m. Admission is free. Current and future Lady Monarch Pride members are also invited to the first Lady Monarch Pride meeting for 2008-09 to be held in conjunction with the Blue-White Game. The meeting will begin with an opportunity for Pride members and prospective members to attend the shoot-around and the team's pre-game meal at the Constant Center, as well as meet the newest members of the Lady Monarch roster and reconnect with the returning student-athletes.

NORFOLK, Va. -- Do you believe? The Old Dominion women's basketball team believes they have what it takes to capture their 18th consecutive Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) title and make a run deep into the NCAA Tournament. The 2008-09 schedule, released on Tuesday, certainly proves the Lady Monarchs have a test in front of them with four opponents that reached NCAA last year, including national champion Tennessee, four WNIT participants, among them runner-up Michigan State, a season-opening tournament at Texas, and a challenging CAA slate.

BIG BLUE CLUB UPDATE: Tropical Storm Hanna Stalls Re-Seating Process

NORFOLK, Va. -- Old Dominion University officials have cancelled Saturday classes in anticipation of the rain, winds and tidal flooding expected from Tropical Storm Hanna. Following the University cancellation, the Big Blue Club re-seating process for men's and women's season ticket holders has been shifted forward one day and will resume on Sunday at 10:00 am.

Halsey joins the Lady Monarch staff after serving as an Associate Project Director and Project Coordinator with Fallon Medica, LLC in New Jersey. A 2002 cum laude graduate of Saint Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire, with a degree in business, Halsey was a four-time member of the Northeast Ten Conference Academic Team.

NORFOLK, Va. - Former Lady Monarch women's basketball forward Megan Pym (Newfield, N.Y.) has been awarded the Frank Batten College of Engineering and Technology Lee M. Klinefelter Award for Overall Excellence in Engineering and Technology. The yearly Klinefelter Award is given to a senior engineering technology student who has demonstrated superior performance academically and in extracurricular activities. Pym holds a 3.54 grade point average in civil engineering technology.
